Qatar PM warns Gaza ceasefire at risk from Israeli violations
Qatar (Washington Insider) – Qatar’s PM Sheikh Mohammed
warned Gaza ceasefire risks collapse after 738 Israeli violations, 394 deaths,
1,075+ injuries; infants die from hypothermia; US, Netanyahu, Hamas, Red Saad
involved.
As Samaa News reported, Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh
Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, has warned that the Gaza
ceasefire is at risk. He said repeated Israeli violations are threatening the
entire agreement. Speaking in Washington, D.C., after talks with U.S. Secretary
of State Marco Rubio, Sheikh Mohammed called for urgent action to move the
truce forward.
Since the ceasefire started on October 10, 2025, Israel has
reportedly broken it 738 times, causing 394 Palestinian deaths and more than
1,075 injuries, according to Al Jazeera. He said these violations make it hard
for mediators to maintain the peace.
Sheikh Mohammed also mentioned the recent killing of senior
Hamas commander Red Saad in Gaza City, saying it has increased tensions. He
warned that without immediate measures, the ceasefire could collapse, putting
the region in danger.
What threats are
facing the Gaza ceasefire amid the humanitarian crisis?
During the 7th U.S.-Qatar Strategic Dialogue, Sheikh
Mohammed
focused on 3 main issues. He urged strict enforcement of the ceasefire and
asked the United States to pressure Israel to stop its repeated violations. He
proposed an International Stabilisation Force to monitor the truce, including
possible troops from Indonesia and Turkey, although Israel opposes Turkish
involvement.
He also highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis in
Gaza. Sheikh Mohammed said aid must reach civilians without restrictions. He
called for urgent delivery of food, medical supplies, and other essential
support to people facing shortages.
Gaza is facing a severe humanitarian crisis as winter storms
hit the densely populated enclave. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are
sheltering in fragile tents or buildings damaged by previous attacks. Aid
deliveries are heavily restricted, with only 39% of trucks carrying supplies
reaching their destinations.
Israel has once again denied the entry of food products of
all types, as prohibited by the laws of war and international law, while
permitting shipments of paper, pens, sandals, and other
commercial/non-essential items to enter the Gaza Strip.
According to Asad Abedin, a 29-day-old infant was found dead
from extreme hypothermia in Khan Younis, increasing the winter toll to 13
deaths since the onset of winter. Earlier this week, a 2-week-old baby,
Mohammed Khalil Abu al-Khair, died from hypothermia as well.
Hamas leader, Khalil al-Hayya, stated that the continuing
pattern of violations by Israel endangers, and in his view could invalidate,
the validity of their accord with Israel, and called on President Trump to hold
the Israeli government and its leaders responsible.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the
killing of Senior Hamas Commander Red Saad, claiming that Hamas is attempting
to re-arm and disrupt any peace process. Netanyahu was speaking at the time of
the 2nd Phase of the U.S.-sponsored ceasefire, which states that Hamas will
need to disarm, Israeli Forces will withdraw, and an international
stabilisation force will come in to continue the peace. The 1st Phase mainly
consisted of the exchange of prisoners and captives, including hundreds of
Palestinian Bodies returned, most with signs of torture or execution.
