AFC President praises Qatar’s hosting of FIFA Arab Cup 2025
Qatar (Washington Insider) – AFC President Sheikh Salman
praised Qatar’s organisation of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025, congratulated Morocco
on their 3-2 final win over Jordan, and highlighted the tournament’s role in
developing Arab football.
As Gulf Times reported, Asian Football Confederation (AFC)
President Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa praised Qatar for its
organisation of the FIFA Arab Cup 2025. He said the tournament was delivered to
the highest international standards.
Sheikh Salman pointed to Qatar’s careful planning, modern
stadiums, and strict technical and operational standards. These elements, he
said, helped make the event run smoothly and strengthened Qatar’s reputation as
a top host for major global sporting events.

Sheikh Salman added that the success of the tournament
showed strong cooperation between FIFA, regional football authorities, and
national associations. He said that regional competitions like the Arab Cup
help improve competitiveness, develop young talent, and promote
sportsmanship.
The FIFA Arab Cup 2025 will be used as an example for how
sporting events can benefit from good planning and international cooperation,
increasing the visibility of football while providing fans with an enjoyable
experience and players with an enjoyable event to participate in.
Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, who is also FIFA’s
First Vice-President, congratulated Morocco for winning the FIFA Arab Cup 2025
following their final match against Jordan, where they won 3-2. He said that
Morocco’s victory was a result of their players’ technical skill level,
tactical strategy, and professionalism on the field.
Additionally, he commended Jordan for finishing second
in the tournament. He stated that the consistency of Jordan’s performance
throughout the tournament shows that Jordanian football has significantly
improved.
Qatar hosted the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 between December 1 and
December 18, 2025. 16 Arab National Teams took part in this tournament. On
November 25–26, 2025, qualification matches were played to determine which
teams would participate in the tournament.
The tournament was played in 6 stadiums that were used for
the FIFA World Cup 2022, including the Opening Match at the Al Bayt Stadium and
the Final Match at Lusail Stadium. This was the second consecutive edition of
the Arab Cup hosted by Qatar.
