  • VP J.D. Vance breaks silence.
  • Comments on Trump-Musk online dispute.
  • Addresses escalating social media conflict.

Vance reiterated his position and support for Trump on Friday.

Vance's remarks were made in public following Musk's recent resignation as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which subtly involved the Vice President.

Musk tweeted "yes" in response to a social media post on Thursday that stated Vance "should replace him" in the WhiteHouseand that

"Trump should be impeached.

" (As of early Saturday morning, X users were receiving a notification that said,

"Sorry, that post has been deleted,"

instead of Musk's impeachment-related message.

Additionally, Musk responded to Vance's observation that it had been a "slow news day" by adding a laughing emoji in an X post. Vance joked,

"What are we even going to talk about?"

when he revealed he was interviewing well-known podcaster Theo Vaughn.

After Musk voiced his complaints about Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill," which the Senate is currently considering, the conflict between Trump and Musk broke out. The CEO of Tesla called the law a "disgusting abomination" and attacked the proposal in over two dozen posts on his social media accounts on Wednesday.

In response, Trump expressed his "disappointment" with Musk to reporters in the Oval Office. After then, the argument escalated and became personal, with the two exchanging remarks on social media.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Trump had said via Truth Social:

“Elon was ‘wearing thin.’ I asked him to leave. I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy electric cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!) and he just went CRAZY!”

Whether the President and his former right-hand man can make amends is still up in the air. However, Vance's demonstration of support for Trump has made his stance obvious.

What implications do Vance's words have for SpaceX federal contracts?

Vice President J.D. Vance's statements have negligible direct counteraccusations for SpaceX's$ 22 billion in civil contracts with NASA and DOD, as his political commentary emphasized conciliation over retribution, praising Musk as an" extraordinary entrepreneur" whose DOGE work was" salutary" and noting Trump" does n’t want a long- term feud."

Vance avoided championing Trump's pitfalls to review or terminate subventions contracts, rather attributing Musk's outbursts to frustration and expressing stopgap for Musk to" reestablish connections."

The feud urged a White House- directed inspection of SpaceX contracts by DOD and NASA on June 13, 2025, preparing" political security" for implicit cuts amid Trump's warnings of" serious consequences," though no cancellations passed.
