Pakistan embassy Abu Dhabi closed for Christmas & Quaid‑i‑Azam Day

UAE (Washington Insider) - Pakistan Embassy Abu Dhabi will close on December 25, 2025, for Christmas and Quaid-i-Azam Day, marking Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth, and will host a Christmas event led by Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan.

As Supreeta Balasubramanian reported on Khaleej Times, the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi will remain closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025, according to an announcement issued by the mission on Monday, December 22, 2025. 

The closure will be observed due to Christmas Day and Quaid-i-Azam Day. Officials mentioned that December 25 is a public holiday in Pakistan and marks the birth anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan and its first Governor-General. 

What did the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi do for Christmas and Quaid‑i‑Azam Day?On the same day, the embassy hosted a Christmas celebration for the Pakistani Christian community residing in Abu Dhabi. Many families from the community attended the event, which was held in a welcoming and festive setting. Senior embassy officials were present and met with members of the community during the gathering. 

Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE. Shafqat Ali Khan, who spoke about the significance that tolerance, peace, and mutual respect between faiths play in creating a sense of stability and harmony in multicultural environments, and that these values are of high priority in the overall view of Pakistan.

The event also included a special prayer for the peace and prosperity of the nation of Pakistan. The date of December 25th is not recognised as an official public holiday in the United Arab Emirates, but based on their own internal policies, private employers may offer holiday observances on this date. There are a large number of businesses across the UAE that offer holiday observances on December 25th.
